Announcements

Birthdays: Happy Weekend Birthday to Mariah Jost (August, 29^th)

·         The Homecoming Theme this year is Superheroes.

·         Tonight the Blackhawk Football team takes on SBA in Wessington Springs. Game time is 7PM. Good luck boys!

·         The Lady Blackhawks beat Howard last night to take home 3^rd place at the Hanson Tourney.

·         Due to Highmore/Harrold not fielding a football team this year, we will play Hanson on September 4th at the FCA Bowl on the USF Field at 10 AM. The Blackhawks will wear their dark uniforms.

·         Football Tickets will be sold for the FCA SODAK Bowl game vs. Hanson at USF on Sept. 4 starting at 10:00AM. Mr. Weber, Mrs. Whitney, and Mr. Witte will start selling tickets at 6:15PM in front of the grand stand tonight in Wessington Springs before the SBA football game.

Tickets will also be sold at the door at USF (Bob Young Field) All tickets sold are general admission. 

·         An updated FFA calendar can be found on the Woonsocket Google Drive in the FFA folder.

·         All school forms can be found on the Woonsocket Google Drive.

·         The WEPC is selling hats, gloves, scarves, and headbands with the SCW logo on them. Order forms and money are due back to the school by Friday, September 11. Checks can be made out to WEPC. Forms will be sent home with the elementary students and they can also be found on the Woonsocket Google Drive in the WEPC folder.

·         The Woonsocket Cross Country team has their first meet on Saturday August, 29^th. Their entire schedule can be found on the Google Drive. The team leaves at 8:30AM.

·         The syllabus for the 8^th-12^th grade band students will be sent home today. It can also be found on the Google Drive. Marching band camp is scheduled for next Saturday Aug 29th 10am to 5pm @ Woonsocket. Students are expected to attend.

·         2015 Football & Volleyball Concession Stand Schedule is uploaded on the School Forms Google Drive Folder. 

·         A September Activities Calendar has been uploaded to the Google Drive under School Forms.

·         The JH/JV Football Schedule can be found in the Football Folder. Their first game is on August 31^st in Platte at 4PM.

·         Attention 8^th-12^th Grade English classes. 20 points of AR will be required each quarter not semester. Mr. Lieber.

·         5th grade parents: Currently students are learning about the most common played instruments in beginner band. After the students are done trying out all the instruments (which will be next week), I will be sending home a form that will let you know what instrument your student is best suited for.

On September 8th, from 6PM-8PM, there will be an instrumental showcase in the Sanborn Central music room. Stop in to purchase or rent-to-own an instrument. I will also be there to answer any questions you may have. After you stop in, stay to support our Blackhawks volleyball team as they take on Freeman!!

·         Crystalyx Cards are in.  Be looking for an FFA member to get yours!  The $20 purchase of a Crystalyx Card saves the producer $40 on one ton of Crystalyx.  Net saving to the producer is $20 per ton.  This has a great fundraiser for our FFA Chapter bringing in near $3000 last year. The SC/W FFA would like to thank the Forestburg Farmer’s Elevator, Wessington Springs Farm and Home Center, and Stan’s of Alpena for their support of the FFA through this program.  Contact Mr. Gross at shane.gross@k12.sd.us or by phone at the school if you have any questions.

There will be a Tailgate Supper at the Blackhawks Football Game tomorrow night starting at 6PM. The supper consists of Burgers, Chips, Cookie, and Pop for $5. 

Woonsocket Season Passes will be sold at the gate at the Football Game tomorrow night from 5:30PM-7:00PM.
