Congratulations to the Lady Blackhawks as they defeated Freeman last night. They play at Mitchell Christian tomorrow starting at 5:15.  The Bus will leave Woony at 4PM.

The Varsity Volleyball team travels to Plankinton on Saturday for the CBH tournament. They play MVP at 1:30PM. A schedule has been added to the Volleyball Folder on the Google Drive. 

Volleyball Parents night will now be September 22^nd.

A Student Council meeting for Spirit Days will be held Thursday at 10:40AM.  Student Body- Please give ideas to your class officers. 

All-State chorus auditions will take place on Thursday, September 10th during the music block.  Chorus students not auditioning should report to SRB.  Students that are auditioning should wait in the commons until it is their turn.

There will be a Winterguard Informational Meeting Monday Sep 14th 6pm @ Woonsocket for anyone 7th-12th interested in participating in Winterguard this year. Please contact brett.kroeger@k12.sd.us for more questions.

Planbook is a new feature we will be using this school year. It allows students and parents to view teacher's lessons online. A Planbook link has been added to the Quick Links on the School Website. Just click on the link and it will take you directly to the Planbook Website. When you are on the Planbook homepage make sure you click on student view. Then type in the teacher's email and the correct password which is located on the Planbook Page on the Website.

We are in the process of making changes and updates to the School Website. The Woonsocket School News, Woonsocket Google Drive, and now the new Planbook are all located on there under the quick links on the left hand side of the Homepage.

7-12th grade 1st Quarter mid-term reports will be handed out at P/T Conferences on Sept. 17 from 3-7PM in the gymnasium.

Students attending the Woonsocket Land and Range School on Sept. 9th are listed below.  We will leave Sanborn Central at 8:40 a.m. and Woonsocket at 8:55 a.m.  FFA Members need to remember to bring $8 for the meal.  Everyone will need a pencil and only range participants may bring a clipboard.  Bring other equipment as needed.  Be prepared for being outdoors and likely getting soil on your clothes.

FFA Members:  Please try on your FFA jacket to make sure it still fits! The FFA Chapter will buy back jackets that are in good condition for $25.  You can then put this money towards a new jacket (about $50).  There are also jacket scholarships available.  Contact Mr. Gross for more information.

Cross Country Results (last week)

MCM Meet at Salem—Varsity Division 88 total runners, Rex placed 10^th, Spens placed 26^th, and Malachi placed 78^th. As a team the boys placed 7^th out of 25 teams.

MVP Invite—Varsity- Rex placed 2^nd and Spens placed 5^th. In the JH Division Malachi placed 10^th

CBH Conference—Rex placed 1^st, and Spens placed 3^rd. in the JH Division Malachi placed 2^nd.

The XC Team travels to DeSmet on Thursday Sept. 10^th. The team leaves at 2:00PM.

The HS FB Team travels to White on Friday to take on Deubrook. The Deubrook FFA is having a Pizza Feed beginning at 5:30 PM. A flyer for that can be found on the Google Drive.

The 5^th/6^th Grade Girls & Boys Basketball Practice and Game Schedule has been added to the Google Drive. Schedules and Parent Contact information were sent home last week.

Sophomores: Do not forget to turn in your Class Ring Order Form to Mr. Weber by Wednesday Sept. 9^th. 

The Homecoming Theme this year is Superheroes.

Juniors: Magazine and cookie dough sales are due Today. Please turn in your packets to Mrs. Pauly (2nd grade) or Mrs. Van Heerden (5th grade).

All school forms can be found on the Woonsocket Google Drive.

The WEPC is selling hats, gloves, scarves, and headbands with the SCW logo on them. Order forms and money are due back to the school by Friday, September 11. Checks can be made out to WEPC. Forms will be sent home with the elementary students and they can also be found on the Woonsocket Google Drive in the WEPC folder.

2015 Football & Volleyball Concession Stand Schedule is uploaded on the School Forms Google Drive Folder. 

A September Activities Calendar has been uploaded to the Google Drive under School Forms.

Crystalyx Cards are in.  Be looking for an FFA member to get yours!  The $20 purchase of a Crystalyx Card saves the producer $40 on one ton of Crystalyx.   Net saving to the producer is $20 per ton.  This has a great fundraiser for our FFA Chapter bringing in near $3000 last year. The SC/W FFA would like to thank the Forestburg Farmer’s Elevator, Wessington Springs Farm and Home Center, and Stan’s of Alpena for their support of the FFA through this program. Community News

Welcome back to church and Wednesday Night Live.  We are extremely excited to see everyone again!
The year will kick off with church on Sunday, September 13th at 10 am.  This will be a celebration Sunday as we come together into one parish.  We will celebrate with the kids sharing their songs from this summer so have them wear their day camp T-shirt.  Also, throw in their backpacks so Pastor can share with them a blessing. Finally, please plan to join in a potluck immediately following church. 

Wednesday Night Live will officially start on Wednesday, September 16th.  The weekly sessions will be held from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.  As a reminder, we will be taking offering each week and supper will not be served.  Each Wednesday we will have a lesson/activity for the kids and also enjoy some group singing.
