sale with all proceeds from the meal and the bake sale to be donated to the
"You'll Never Walk Alone" Foundation. This foundation helps people in
the area after they've been diagnosed with cancer of any kind by answering
questions, giving out care baskets filled with items the patient will
need throughout their cancer journey (lotions, candies, etc.), helping to
line up rides to treatments if needed, and much more.
We did not sell t-shirts this
year but ask that people consider donating in other ways to support this event.
Come out, support our Blackhawks, eat a great meal, and have some fun while
supporting our family and friends that have battled and are battling cancer! We
would love to see you there! Serving for both events starts at 5:15!
The 5th/6th Grade
Girls & Boys Basketball Practice and Game Schedule has been added to the
Google Drive. There have been updates made to the schedule. Due to conflicts
with W. Springs, we have switched the home and away games with Wess.
Springs. We also changed a 4PM start time for Oct. 19.
Academics
Mitchell Technical Institute will
be hosting My Technical Interest Days again this year. Registration forms and
additional information about the events can be found atwww.mitchelltech.edu/admissions/campus-events and
on the attached flier.
MyTI (pronounced
"mighty") Days are an opportunity for students, along withinstructors, counselors, and administrators to
visit the programs at Mitchell Technical Institute that are the “next steps” in
career clusters of interest. The student may be enrolled those program courses
in high school or just have an interest in that area
The following are the dates for
the camps:
October 15, 2015 – Energy
October 22, 2015 – Construction
October 28, 2015 – Ag and
Transportation
November 10, 2015 – Business
November 10, 2015 – Cyber
November 18, 2015 – Scrubs
March 8, 2016 – Culinary
You will notice that there is not
a grade level of attendance for MyTI Days. I would say that camp is geared more
toward that sophomore or junior student
that is in the midst of career exploration, but I wouldn't discourage a senior who is trying to figure out what
to do next year or a freshman with
a great deal of interest in that area to apply either.
Registration is
limited, so I would encourage your students to apply early.
Registration is currently open
for the Teens As Teachers fall training held at the SDSU Extension Regional
Centers. Training date options include October 12, 13 and 14. Teams may be
affiliated with a school, 4-H Club or other organization. Four different content
area curriculums are available for teams to choose to teach including:
Character Education; Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM);
Nutrition Education; and TeachSD (teaching technology to adults over 50). For a
full description of content options, view 2015 SD 4-H Teens As Teachers Fall
Program Options on iGrow. For more information and registration details
please contact Mr. Weber or Mrs. Johnson.
Planbook is a new feature we will
be using this school year. It allows students and parents to view teacher's
lessons online. A Planbook link has been added to the Quick Links on the School
Website. Just click on the link and it will take you directly to the Planbook
Website. When you are on the Planbook homepage make sure you click on
student view. Then type in the teacher's email and the correct
password which is located on the Planbook Page on the Website.
