School News

Midterm Grades will be mailed on Thursday for students in grades 7-12. 
Eligibility will be checked on Tuesday, Feb. 16.  


Congratulations to all who participated in the vocal contest yesterday in Kimball. Both Abi and Ashleigh received superior ratings on their solos.  The mixed vocal group also received a superior rating.  You represented the Woonsocket music department well!


Order forms for Blackhawk Apparel are due today!



The second order for the Rob Baruth t-shirt orders are due on February 12th. 




McKenzie Baruth, a second grader, has earned her first seal on "Every Reader is a Star".  This is a reading award program for the elementary students and points accumulate once they start taking Accelerated Reader Tests. McKenzie's accumulative total is now 50.4 points. Congrats Kenzie!!




Athletics

The schedule got changed for Friday, February 12th, at Highmore - 4PM Girls JV, 5PM- Boys JV, followed by Girls V and Boys V. (Bus leaves at 2PM)


JH and C Boys and Girls are at Plankinton on Tuesday, February 16th. The JH Boys and Girls will play at 4PM on split courts, followed by the C Girls and Boys. 


JVC does not have enough girls that can play a 4PM game now so the schedule has changed for next Monday, February 15th  at Woonsocket - 5:15PM- JH, 6:30PM- JV, 7:45PM- Varsity


The Boys will take on Parkston in the DWU Classic on Saturday at 1PM.

MISSING

An I-Pad was left at the home game against Wessington Springs last Thursday. It has a red/brown case. If found please bring in to Emily’s office.


Community News

Corsica-Stickney is holding their 17th Annual 3 on 3 Tournament on April 9th.  The cost is $40 per team and registration is due by April 4th. There are both girls and boys divisions for 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th 7th, 8th, High School, and Post Men and Women. You can get a registration form from Emily.


First National Bank is having a Bake Sale on February 12th from 9AM until all baked items are gone. Proceeds go towards the Sanborn County Food Pantry.
