The Lady Blackhawks travel to
Mitchell Christian today for volleyball. The C game starts at 5:15 followed by
the JV and then V. Bus leaves at 4 PM.

The Varsity Volleyball team travels to Plankinton on Saturday for the CBH tournament. They play MVP at 1:30PM. A schedule has been added to the Volleyball Folder on the Google Drive.
Volleyball Parents night will now
be September 22nd.
A Student Council meeting for
Spirit Days will be held Thursday at 10:40AM. Student Body- Please give
ideas to your class officers.
All-State chorus auditions will
take place on Thursday, September 10th during the music block. Chorus
students not auditioning should report to SRB. Students that are
auditioning should wait in the commons until it is their turn.
There will be a Winterguard
Informational Meeting Monday Sep 14th 6pm @ Woonsocket for anyone 7th-12th
interested in participating in Winterguard this year. Please contact brett.kroeger@k12.sd.us

Planbook is a new feature we will
be using this school year. It allows students and parents to view teacher's
lessons online. A Planbook link has been added to the Quick Links on the School
Website. Just click on the link and it will take you directly to the Planbook
Website. When you are on the
Planbook homepage make sure you click on student view. Then type in the teacher's email and
the correct password which is located on the Planbook Page on the
Website.

We are in the process of making
changes and updates to the School Website. The Woonsocket School News,
Woonsocket Google Drive, and now the new Planbook are all located on there
under the quick links on the left hand side of the Homepage.
7-12th grade 1st Quarter mid-term
reports will be handed out at P/T Conferences on Sept. 17 from 3-7PM in the
gymnasium.
Registration is currently open
for the Teens As Teachers fall training held at the SDSU Extension Regional
Centers. Training date options include October 12, 13 and 14. Teams may be
affiliated with a school, 4-H Club or other organization. Four different
content area curriculums are available for teams to choose to teach including:
Character Education; Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM);
Nutrition Education; and TeachSD (teaching technology to adults over 50). For a

FFA Members: Please try on
your FFA jacket to make sure it still fits! The FFA Chapter will buy back
jackets that are in good condition for $25. You can then put this money
towards a new jacket (about $50). There are also jacket scholarships
available. Contact Mr. Gross for more information.
The XC Team travels to DeSmet
today. The team leaves at 2:00PM.
The HS FB Team travels to White
on Friday to take on Deubrook. The Deubrook FFA is having a Pizza Feed
beginning at 5:30 PM. A flyer for that can be found on the Google Drive.
The 5th/6th Grade
Girls & Boys Basketball Practice and Game Schedule has been added to the
Google Drive. Schedules and Parent Contact information were sent home last week.
The Homecoming Theme this year is
Superheroes.
All school forms can be found on
the Woonsocket Google Drive.
The WEPC is selling hats, gloves,
scarves, and headbands with the SCW logo on them. Order forms and money are due
back to the school by Friday, September 11. Checks can be made
out to WEPC. Forms will be sent home with the elementary students and they
can also be found on the Woonsocket Google Drive in the WEPC folder.

Community News
Welcome
back to church and Wednesday Night Live. We are extremely excited to see
everyone again!
The year
will kick off with church on Sunday, September 13th at 10 am. This will
be a celebration Sunday as we come together into one parish. We will
celebrate with the kids sharing their songs from this summer so have them wear
their day camp T-shirt. Also, throw in their backpacks so Pastor can
share with them a blessing. Finally, please plan to join in a potluck
immediately following church.
Wednesday
Night Live will officially start on Wednesday, September 16th. The weekly
sessions will be held from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. As a reminder, we will be
taking offering each week and supper will not be served. Each Wednesday
we will have a lesson/activity for the kids and also enjoy some group singing.

There is a Youth Volleyball Clinic being held on Saturday, September 26th from 9 AM to Noon for Girls in grades 1st-6th. Mitchell Volleyball coach Deb Thill along with her staff and players will be conducting the camp. You can sign up online at cityofmitchell.org or at the Rec Center in Mitchell. Deadline to register is September 21st. There is a $20 fee which includes a t-shirt.
