School News



High School students----Last Day to switch 2nd semester classes is Friday, Jan. 8.


SENIORS: There is information regarding both scholarships and FAFSA applications on the Woonsocket School Website. It is under the Senior Tab on the top of the Homepage.



The Woonsocket Community Library is conducting a survey on the amount of interest area residents have in an online program that we can purchase so that you can download books.  Please see the information on the Google Drive.


Congratulations to the students that earned 40 or more Accelerated Reader Points during the 2nd quarter of school.  They will be guests of Mr. Weber on Thursday morning for rolls and juice.  JH/HS students earning that status are: Tayla Weber, Garrett Larson, Aaron Linke, Zeb Bruce, Wyatt Feistner, Taylor Burkel, Ashleigh Fry, Nathan Linke, Sydney Zeller, Cage Boschee, Ely Garcia, Bailey Huss, Carter Linke, Graceana Terkildsen, Xavier Baysinger, Caycee Guinn, Madison Schmiedt, Noah Terkildsen, Andrew Lindgren and Lily Overson.  Little Redmen students earning 40 points or more are: Dilyn Brooks, Madison Stephens, Hannah Terkildsen, Bailey Feistner, Jaycee Baruth, Daulton Guinn, Aiden Lieber and Carter Christian.


Athletics

Schedule for the Girl's Redfield Classic: 


DH with Bridgewater/Emery tonight.  The Girls JV start at 4PM followed by the Boys JV, Girls Varsity, and Boys Varsity. 

Q107.3 is covering the boys game tonight.



Boys 3/4 BB Practice @ Woony on Jan 9th 10:00-12:00


Band

The HS Honor Band that was scheduled in November has been rescheduled to this Friday Jan 8th:
Congrats to Shay Swenson, Bailey Schmiedt, Aaron Linke, Kadin Schlenker, Nathan Linke, and Kyla Morgan for being selected for the Region V High School Honor Band. We will be leaving from Woonsocket at 6:30am Monday Nov 30th. Concert will be in the Gregory Memorial Auditorium at 6:30pm. Admission will be $3.00 for adults and $2.00 for students. Meals are $10 for the day. Students can bring along concert dress clothes (instead of wearing all day) to change into after supper. We will arrive back around 10pm.

Friends of the Woonsocket Community Library are planning a used book sale for Thursday, January 28th.  If you have clean used books and magazines in good shape that you would like to donate, you may bring them to the library during library hours anytime prior to the 28th.

The Library is open from 8am to 5pm on Monday and Friday, 8am to 1pm on Tuesday and Thursday and 8am to 6pm on Wednesday.
