School News


Prom Picture Forms can be picked up in Emily’s office.


The Driver’s Ed class for this year is full.


There is a copy of the Community Play and the Jr. High Play available to check out at the library.



High School Students there is a sign-up sheet in the hallway for everyone who is attending prom. You need to put your name and your dates name and school. Please get this done today. 



Upcoming Scholarship dates:

** Those of you eligible for the SD Opportunity Scholarship (ACT score of 24 and GPA of 3.0 and required classes completed) please see me.




Changes have been made to the testing schedule. Here is the new schedule
   
     Smarter Balance
            4th -  April 22nd, 25th, 27th, 28th
              * Make up tests will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday preferable in the morning *
     


  
Athletics

The JH Boys and Girls Track Teams travel to Howard today. Field Events start at 1:30PM and Running Events start at 3PM. The Bus will leave at 12:15PM. Students attending: Kaylee, Taylor, Josie, Ellie, Caycee, Morgan, Tyler, Wesley, Carter, Miles, Cage, Weston, Malachi
(Dismissed at 11:50 to eat lunch)

JH & JV Golf at Springs today. Students attending are Xavier, Collin, Nick, and Shay. The Bus will leave at 12PM. (Dismissed at 11;45 to eat lunch) 


The JH Golf Meet at Fish Lake has been moved to May 9th. 


The soccer games that were cancelled on Monday, April 18th in Woonsocket will be played April 28th in Woonsoc​ket.   Same times.


Forms are due TODAY for Coach Weber’s Round Ball Camp!!

FFA

SC/W FFA Star Degree Applications due to Mr. Gross by next Monday.  Talk to Mr. Gross if you have questions.


If any parent has pictures they think would be good for the FFA scrapbook, please email them to Mr. Gross at shane.gross@k12.sd.us


Mr. Gross is seeking a Letcher FFA Jacket for display in the Ag Room.  Please contact him at the school.


Prom Rules 

Prom/Dance Rules
Prom:
1)    Open to all Woonsocket High School students. (Grades 9-12)

2)    Freshmen through Seniors may bring a date.
       a)     No dates younger than the 9th grade.
       b)    All Dates must be registered with the Junior class advisor.

 
3)    All students and dates must be appropriately dressed.
       a)     Dress slacks and shirts for gentlemen.
       b)    Skirts and nice blouse or dresses for ladies.
       c)     No Jeans or hats will be allowed! (Mr. Weber will make decision on dress/cowboy hats/etc. Please get prior permission.)


4)  All students attending the prom must arrive between 8:00-8:30PM and meet in the designated area in the west hallway. All students and dates will be breathalyzed for admittance into the prom.


Dance:
1)    To attend the after prom party, students must attend the dance from 9:00pm-12:00am.
       a)    Advisors will be keeping track of attendance
       b)    If students are present for the full amount of time, they will be given a t-shirt to enter after prom.
       c)    If any students are misbehaving, leaving early, or not showing up, they will not be allowed to attend the after prom party.



Post Prom

Students and their dates must return Post Prom Form to Chris by Friday, April 29th. We are asking the Seniors that are attending to make an Egg Bake and drop it off at the Community Center Friday, April 29 between 6-8. We are asking students 9-11 that are attending to bring $5.00 to help with the cost of food. In the past we have had people donate bars, pop, ect. but decided we would try this way this year.

Community News

The Lutheran/Methodist Community Vacation Bible School (for pre-school children) and Day Camp (for students having completed Kindergarten through fifth grade.) will be held June 12-16.  Registration Forms are available at Wednesday Night Live or from Sarah Jensen.   All children are welcome!
