With the 4th quarter and end of the year quickly nearing the end, here is an update on Redmen Reading.  Students that have qualified for Redmen Reading Club status are: Tayla Weber, aaron Linke, Bailey Huss, Sarah Baysinger, Andrew Lindgren, Christian Howard, Lily Overson, Madison Schmiedt, NoahTerkildsen, Wyatt Feistner, Abi Fry, Ashleigh Fry, Graeana Terkildsen, Xavier Baysinger, Nathan Linke, Taylor Burkel and Cage Boschee. Megan Linke, Carter Linke and Ely Garcia are very close to reaching status.  Students have until this Friday, May 13th to qualify for the end of the year party.

Top JH/HS readers for the Fourth Quarter of the school year currently having 40 AR points or more are: Xavier Baysinger, Cage Boschee, Graceana Terkildsen, Bailey Huss, Ely Garcia, Megan Linke, Ashleigh Fry, 
Nathan Linke, Christian Howard, Aaron Linke, Taylor Burkel. These students have 30 plus points thus far: Madison Schmiedt, Noah Terkildsen, Carter Linke, Sarah Baysinger, Zeb Bruce, Tayla Weber. Elementary students that have already qualified for the party are Madison Stephens, Trinity Boschee, Aiden Lieber, Lane Burkel, Colton Trabing and McKenzie Baruth.  Elementary students that have currently have 30 plus points are Blake Howard, Dilyn Brooks and Bailey Feistner. Students have until this Friday, May 13th to qualify for the 4th Quarter party with Mr. Weber.4th Quarter party with Mr.

ASSE International Student Exchange Programs is looking for local families willing to host high-school-aged children from other countries.
The students, both boys and girls, will be between the ages of 15 and 18 and are interested in learning about American culture, as well as sharing their own. Students will have spending money to cover personal expenses and have full health, accident and liability insurance. Students are selected for the program based on academics and host families can choose teens from a variety of countries, backgrounds and interests.

The SCW Girl’s Basketball Program is having DWU Women’s Basketball Team come in this summer to do a individual skills camp for girls’ in grades (as of fall 2016) 3-8 this June. The camp will be June 23rd at the Woonsocket Gym. Forms are being sent home today with students. Please return forms by the end of the school year to Emily.

Dakota Wesleyan University Women’s Basketball Team is hosting a Girl’s Individual Camp on June 13th-15th in Mitchell, for grades K-8. If you would like a Form please come see Emily.

FFA


Mr. Gross will be putting on an informational night for parents about Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs).  This informational night will cover the following:
  • What is an SAE
  • The types of SAEs (Entrepreneurship, Placement, or Agribusiness)
  • The expectations of SC/W FFA members as related to SAEs (during the school year and the summer)
  • How to access the record keeping system the FFA uses (www.theaet.com)
  • How to enter basic SAE records
  • FFA awards from SAE projects (proficiency awards, SD FFA Star awards)
More information will be released next week on the specifics on date(s) and location(s). Please email Mr. Gross if you have any questions.
