The 5th/6th Grade girls travel to Mt. Vernon on Saturday for their CBH tournament. A note of what team each girl is on is being sent home. A schedule of the tournament can be found on the Google Drive.

The Blackhawks play Baltic, Monday November 2nd at Wessington Springs. The game will start at 6:30PM. There is going to be a tailgate supper sponsored by the Spartan Booster Club. It includes a pork sandwich, chips, cookie, and a pop for $5.

Kool 98 and Q107 will be both broadcasting all of our playoff games as long as we keep winning.

The 5th/6th Grade Girls & Boys Basketball Practice and Game Schedule has been added to the Google Drive. There have been updates made to the schedule. Due to conflicts with W. Springs, we have switched the home and away games with Wess. Springs.  We also changed a 4PM start time for Oct. 19.

Academics

Mitchell Technical Institute will be hosting My Technical Interest Days again this year. Registration forms and additional information about the events can be found atwww.mitchelltech.edu/admissions/campus-events and on the attached flier.

MyTI (pronounced "mighty") Days are an opportunity for students, along withinstructors, counselors, and administrators to visit the programs at Mitchell Technical Institute that are the “next steps” in career clusters of interest. The student may be enrolled those program courses in high school or just have an interest in that area

The following are the dates for the camps:
November 10, 2015 – Business
November 10, 2015 – Cyber
November 18, 2015 – Scrubs
March 8, 2016 – Culinary

You will notice that there is not a grade level of attendance for MyTI Days. I would say that camp is geared more toward that sophomore or junior student that is in the midst of career exploration, but I wouldn't discourage a senior who is trying to figure out what to do next year or a freshman with a great deal of interest in that area to apply either.

Registration is limited, so I would encourage your students to apply early.

WEPC

Next meeting is Wednesday, November 4th at 6PM in the Commons - come support our elementary students, and bring a friend!

The WEPC is collecting the following items for our elementary school: Box Tops for Education, Coborn's Labels for Learning (found at the bottom of your Coborn's receipt), Campbell's Soup Labels for Education, pop tabs, and Coca-Cola points. Please save these for us even if you don't have a student in the elementary school as it takes an entire community to help their school thrive. Please give any of these you have to a WEPC member or the school. Thank you for your support!!!
